Fantastic. Much better than the chandelier.

We did this 2 years ago on the 4th. Problem is we didn't have my handy man dad to assist. We are construction novices. The recommended 4-6 hours took us 4-6 days!

Great job!
holy crap! that looks so awesome! :D

wow great job! I did a little work in my backyard this summer but I went with river stone vs mulch.

Number of cold beverages consumed while watching fireworks?
Either I'm getting better with practice, or (more likely) my father and brother-in-law saved me from a lot of heartache and injuries!
I'm a novice myself. The manufacturer said that people have taken anywhere from 4 hours to 2 days to put this together, so I thought we'd be somewhere in the middle, given that I had two more-experienced folks to help me through the installation process.
Cool! I bet river stone is a heavy medium to move around, too. I have to figure out what to put over the two catchbasins they installed, and I'm probably leaning towards a small pile of river stone over each, but it's going to be something I can go put in the back of my car, rather than need a dump truck to drop off...
Are you kidding me? I was exhausted and in bed by 8pm. I would have beat my kids to bed but I had to stay up long enough to brush their teeth and read them a book. Then it was lights-out for me before it was even dark outside! :-)

Excellent! Ours is still in the box where it's been for, oh, 5 years now...
I think I ended up buying 40 bags and had to do 4 trips between my van and my dad's car. I totally underestimated how much I needed and I could use another 20 to get it nice and deep. Next summer ;-) Here's a pic.
